Learn the two core concepts that unlock everything GEN can do for your brand β€” in under 5 minutes.

πŸ“š Getting Started Guide Β· Step 2 of 6

Everything in GEN revolves around two core concepts: Workspaces and Agents. Get these right, and the rest clicks into place.

Understanding Workspaces: Your Brand's Command Center

Think of a Workspace as your brand's entire social media operation. It's where your team collaborates, where your billing lives, and where all your projects and settings are stored.

πŸ’‘ Did you know? Most teams start with one workspace but create separate ones for different brands, clients, or major product lines. Each workspace is completely isolated β€” perfect for agencies managing multiple accounts.

When You Need Multiple Workspaces

  • Agencies: One workspace per client keeps everything organized

  • Multi-brand companies: Separate workspace for each brand identity

  • Testing: Create a "sandbox" workspace for experiments

Most individual creators do NOT need multiple workspaces.

Creating and Switching Workspaces

  1. Click your workspace name in the top-left corner

  2. Select "Create New Workspace" from the dropdown

  3. Name it (usually your brand name or client name)

  4. Switch between workspaces anytime using that same dropdown

Agents: Your AI Characters / Accounts

Here's where it gets exciting. An Agent is your AI content creator β€” the personality that makes your videos. Each agent has its own voice, style, knowledge base, and brand personality.

Most brands start with one agent (representing their main brand voice), but you might create multiple agents for:

  • Different product lines with distinct personalities

  • Various content styles (educational vs. promotional)

  • Testing different brand voices

πŸ“ˆ How a Fashion Brand uses this

One 18-person team created separate agents for "Everyday Style" and "Night Out" content. Different avatars, different voices, different energy β€” but both unmistakably their brand. Result: 60+ videos/week covering every customer mood.

Customizing and Sharing Workspaces and Agents

Click the gear icon at the top right corner of workspaces menu to customize and share a workspace with collaborators:

Projects Page

Your content creation headquarters. This is where you'll build Vidsheets β€” think spreadsheet meets video studio. Each row becomes a video, each cell creates part of that video.

You'll spend most of your time here once you're creating content.

Setup Page

Where your agent's personality comes together. Upload your avatar photo, define your brand voice, add product knowledge, set your visual style. This is the brain surgery that makes everything else work.

Critical during onboarding, occasional tweaks after that.

Voices Page

Design custom voices for your avatar or clone your own voice. Preview different options, adjust tone and style, create multiple voices for different content types.

Set up once during onboarding, expand as needed. Learn how to train a custom voice.

⚑ Pro Move: Clone your founder's voice for authentic testimonials and behind-the-scenes content. Your audience will think they're hearing the real you.

Assets Page

Your content library. Every image, video clip, audio file, and generated asset lives here. Upload product photos, organize into folders, reuse assets across multiple projects.

Reference library β€” you'll browse here when building videos. Master your assets library.

Calendar

Your publishing command center. See what's scheduled, approve pending posts, connect your social accounts, track what's already live.

Check daily to approve content, weekly to plan ahead. Master your content calendar.

πŸ€– Automations

Smart workflows that run automatically. Set up auto-posting schedules, trend response triggers, product launch sequences.

Power-user feature β€” set up after you're comfortable with the basics.

πŸ’‘ Did you know? 67% of GEN users reported at least one video crossing 50K views within their first 30 days β€” and most of them only used Projects, Setup, and Calendar to get there.

The Quick Start Priority

Your first day workflow:

  1. Projects: Create your first video

  2. Setup: Configure your agent's personality and voice

  3. Voices: Create or upload your brand voice

  4. Assets: Upload 5-10 product photos or logos

  5. Calendar: Connect social accounts and approve content

Everything else can wait. Those five sections will get you from zero to posting.

πŸ“ˆ How a faceless YouTube creator uses this: One creator launched a history channel using GEN's Image from Text, voice clone, and auto-captions. Posted 45 Shorts in 30 days β€” zero filming, zero face on camera. Result: 28K subscribers and monetized in 47 days.

What's Next

Now that you understand the structure, it's time to create your first project. That's where the magic happens β€” where your brand voice meets trending content and becomes videos that feel authentically you.

What brands like yours are doing:

  • πŸ›οΈ E-commerce brands β†’ Product showcase projects with seasonal variations

  • πŸ’„ Beauty brands β†’ Tutorial-style projects featuring different products

  • πŸ‹οΈ Fitness brands β†’ Motivational content projects with workout demonstrations

  • 🎬 Faceless YouTube creators β†’ AI visuals + voice clone + auto-captions for Shorts and long-form
